Stick a Fork in Me

I'm done. What a last couple of weeks! I can now officially empathize with people who get morning sickness. I thought the light on the horizon would magically appear with the start of my second trimester, but alas...no. Instead I got an added sinus infection that we have battled in our home for three weeks armed with a neti pot (how do you use that thing?) homeopathic remedies, garlic, juice. You name it we tried it. So when I went in for my last appointment on Thursday the midwife took a look at my fever and decided to try an antibiotic. Alas, what happens? A lovely reaction that has me on yet another prescription and 16 weeks into this I am still mostly horizontal. As the baby grows the pressure and pain I normally have due to pre-exisisting conditions is getting worse and starting to get to me. Bed rest people how did you do it?! At times like this I miss having close friends to call and a ward we feel at home in. It's getting kinda lonely. I apologize for all the invitations I've missed since September- events, book signings, appointments, church.

But, before the month of November ends I am determined to write a post to count my blessings. Here's to some holiday cheer!

I'm grateful for

  • my husband who has been giving me blessings, came home with an electric blanket, chocolate, cough crops, Popsicles. He's been a trooper.

  • my children who tell me they love me and remind me every day to laugh

  • the little miracle growing inside of me whom we have named "Ninja Meats"

  • the fire place and space heater that kept us warm when our heat broke last Sunday

  • Pinterest and Pandora that have helped fill some of my down time

  • our occupational and speech therapist, teachers and special educators who have helped our kiddos make so much progress

  • prayer-been doing a lot of talking to my Heavenly Father

  • books

  • yummy crock pot recipes

  • our juicer and fresh fruit

  • the Internet that keeps me from being completely closed off from the outside world. I've met some wonderful friends there who check in even though they are countries away

  • fresh air and sunshine

  • strangers who extend smiles and kind words

  • tender mercies

What are you thankful for?

So sorry to hear that things are not going well for you. It's wonderful though that you can still look at your blessings. I wish you luck and hope that things get better for you soon. You sound like you need a BIG HUG. Take care. Isn't it wonderful to have a husband to give you a blessing. I don't have that in my home and I really miss that.
