Friday started out with swim lesson level tests for all three of the kiddos. Here's the pics http://mooselynews.blogspot.com/
Then we headed up to Todd's brother's cabin in Eden, Utah with part of his family. I'd had a really hard last several weeks so, it was good to get away into nature. I have decided that Huntsville is my favorite town. It has that small town and historic charm I love. Our first day there I spent most of the day reading and the hubby took everyone on Ranger rides through streams and up steep hills. We went to the rodeo in Liberty and the kids played most of the night with their cousins Nate, Allie, Devin and Ashley. Then we had a campfire with smores and fireworks, Caleb's favorite part by far!
Saturday morning we headed to Huntsville for a pancake breakfast.

Then it was over to Liberty Days for a greased pig contest, chicken chase and mutton bustin. Let me just say that we had no idea what we were in for when we signed up our two oldest for the wildest ride of their lives...

I seriously had to hold back the tears when they decided to put on their brave face and go for it. All but two of the kids before them came away crying and one girl ran into a fence. Todd thinks she probably broke her collar bone.
It's serious cowboy business and I honestly can't believe Meghan and Caleb made it! These were no mellow lambs! They will have a good story to tell some day. After the mutton ride they did a fish catch and grabbed trout with their bare hands which we then let back into the river.
All in all I think everyone had fun and I love everything about Independence Day! It is one of my favorite times of year. Hats off to Watermelon, American flags, barbeques and freedom.
